Last year Garioch Amateur Swimming Club held their first ever Fundraising Ball at the “VENUE” Garioch Sports Centre. The event was such a success that the Club held another fundraiser on Saturday 15th September. The organiser and Club Vice-President David Adams said that the club wanted to celebrate both its recent successes and that of its star swimmer, local girl Hannah Miley, whose fantastic achievements resulted in her being a 3 times London Olympic 2012 finalist.
The 13th Annual Scottish Swimming Awards Ceremony, sponsored by Scottish Gas, was held at the Glasgow Science Centre on Friday 14 Sept.
Garioch Amateur Swimming Club held their annual G200 Open Meet at Westhill Swimming Pool over the weekend of 8th and 9th September. Garioch had a strong team out in force, enabling them to finish in second place out of 19 competing clubs. HANNAH MILEY, post OLYMPICS, swam on day 2 of the meet in the 200m freestyle. Hannah clearly led the way throughout, showing that her form was very much intact. The crowd took to their feet and many followed the race with I-pads considering it a privilege to be there.
