There was great excitement as 70 swimmers aged 6 and over took part in this year’s Garioch Amateur Swimming Club’s Club Championships at Inverurie Swimming Pool. A large audience of family and friends was able to watch some excellent performances over the week-end, with up and coming swimmers performing alongside the more established swimmers to provide tremendous entertainment. Great fun was had by all those who took part and there were some memorable achievements across all ages, with many amazing personal bests. The following won gold medals in their respective age groups.
On the 6 September 2014, Garioch ASC’s David Smith took part in the Scottish Aquathlon Championships. Aquathlon is an event involving swimming and running and this year, as last , was held at Loch Lomond. A 750m open water swim in Loch Lomond was followed immediately by a 5k run around the grounds of Balloch Castle and this was the second time David had taken part in this event at this location.
