The British Gas Disability Open Short Course Championships took place in Manchester’s Aquatics Centre and involved a wealth of talent including European, World and Paralympic Champions. Garioch’s Conner Morrison was also there and swam brilliantly throughout the week-end to take the Youth Male Swimmer of the meet award.
Garioch’s up and coming squad 1 - 3 swimmers were in great form at the Forres Bluefins Mini Meet on Saturday 11th October, displaying outstanding technical ability and superior fitness in taking a host of medals despite their small number. 3 of the team won overall best swimmer in their age group: Finlay Cousins in the boys’ 11 year old category, winning four golds and a silver; Matthew Dick in the boys’ 9 year old category, winning 3 golds and Nicole Ogg in the girls’ 11 year old category, winning 3 golds, one silver and one bronze.
Full marks to Garioch’s swimmers for their great efforts in the North District Distance Meet on November 1st and 2nd at Fraserburgh. Although not many medals were taken, many of the swimmers achieved tremendous PBs in some of the most gruelling events on the calendar.
