On Friday Garioch Swimming club held it’s annual presentation evening. The format this year was quite different to previous years with the presentations kept shorter and much more emphasis on fun. Patrick started with a coaching presentation..
Garioch Amateur Swimming Club concluded a busy weekend of competition by sending a team down to the Carnegie Mini meet on 15th November. The team sponsored by Inverurie Smile Care was made up of 9 swimmers and despite only sending a small team ended up in third position overall, which was a tremendous achievement.
The SASA North District Grand Prix took place in Inverness Aquadrome over the 13-15th November, the meeting was a full competition format with preliminaries in the morning/afternoon and A/B finals in the evening. The standard of competition was very high with Commonwealth swimmers and medallist’s Robbie Renwick, Ross Murdoch, and Garioch’s own Hannah Miley.
The competition held on 7th and 8th November 2015 was open to all members of the club and there were a total of 57 swimmers participating over the two days, it was sponsored by Inverurie Smile Care, who have provided the new club kit for the swimmers. The emphasis was very much on competing but in a relaxed and fun way, the smiles around the pool were in evident.
Hannah Miley, Orla Adams and Shannon Crawford, along with coaches Patrick Miley and Eavan Adams have recently returned from altitude training in Andorra. During their time there Hannah took some time to be interviewed from the press which can be viewed on the links below.
