It was seven Garioch swimmers who made their way up to Inveress for the Open Championships, the standard of the meet was exceptionally high and Garioch swimmers were showing strong early season form.
Orla Adams was overall winner of the 400m IM and 50m Breast, with a strong 2nd in the 200m IM, the medley results netting her the cash prize. Finley Cousins continued his strong form with PB’s in 4 of his 5 events, taking 6.5 seconds off his 100m Breast. Caitlin Dick was also swimming well with strong PB’s in five of her 7 events. Fraser Johnston swam well in the 100m Back taking over 2 seconds off his best. Alastair and Joey Miley were on good form the sibling rivalry was still not settled when Alastair and Joey equalled each other’s time to the 100th sec in the 50m Back. But a sprinkling of PB’s for both shows they should have a good season ahead. Nicole Ogg had a busy meet, performing particularly strongly in the 100m Breast, 50m Fly and 100m back.
We were particularly short of judges so an extra special thanks to those judges who had three very long days officiating, as well as coaches Eavan Adams and Steven Dick.
