October 12th & 13th saw swimmers taking part in the “Garioch 200” competition, supported by Garioch Amateur Swimming Club’s sponsor Stena Drilling Limited. The home club, Garioch Amateur Swim Club, took top honours overall, with Broch and Elgin Swimming Clubs coming second and third respectively. .
Club President, Iain Chirnside said “The Garioch 200 is annual event and is a great opportunity for swimmers to test themselves in an early meet in the short course season. We had 16 clubs represented in this event, including athletes from as far afield as Shetland, and Tain, as well as the University of Aberdeen Performance Team. We were delighted with the progress our swimmers at this club are making, with a significant number achieving personal bests. It’s been great to see some of our younger swimmers enjoy competing at this level which pay dividends later on.”
