Garioch Amateur Swimming Club (GASC) trains out of a humble 4 lane swimming pool in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The pool has been running for over 47 years and GASC having just over 100 swimmers.
On Thursday 28th July Garioch Amateur Swimming Club’s President David Adams along with one of the clubs coaches Steve Dick, presented Barry Booth, Intellicore’s MD and founder some framed memorabilia.
Held at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre between 26th and 31st July, outside of those attending the Olympics the top 20 swimmers by discipline are invited by age so the swimming is of the very highest standard.
Success is all about the right ingredients. To get the best out of someone you need the combination of an unique swimmer, parent, coach and club.
It was just four swimmers who took part in the Scottish Summer meeting this weekend, Finley Cousins, Caitlin Dick, Max Hitchcox and Bill Whitcombe.
Absolutely fantastic news in that GASC came in 6th position overall at the Scottish National Open Championships. This is an outstanding achievement for a non composite and comparatively small club compared to the competition and one we should all be very proud of.
The 25th and 26th June was the weekend of the North District development meet
The North coast pool at Buckie played host to this year’s Elgin Mini Meet, Garioch sent up a big squad of 21 swimmers to compete.
The Edinburgh Commonwealth pool was hosting the East District Open and Grand Prix between 27th and 29th May. The Garioch squad were on great form throughout.
On Monday 16th May 2016 at the LEN European Championships in London, Hannah Miley won silver in the 400IM, we wish her the very best of luck for the remainder of the week.
